One Thing at a Time #20081210

Number 1
Sometimes Internet shopping can be challenging. I do enjoy shopping via my laptop much more than going to a store. No pressure sales associates (remember when they were called "clerks?"). And it's easy to shop for the best price. Well, about three weeks ago I ordered a piece of furniture that Deborah and I had been looking at. We were looking for something perfect on which her new plasma could be placed. Ok, yes it isn't hers because doesn't it take a man to run a remote control? Two weeks ago it arrived. Though it was packed very well, there was a ding. So, for a week it sat in our living room with all of the packing materials until the trucking company picked it up. So, one day at home waiting for the first delivery and one day waiting for the pick up.

This past Monday night I received a phone call that the new one was going to be delivered. So, I was home yesterday waiting for it. And...it didn't show up. But today there was a note on our door that they tried to deliver it today. Tomorrow I'll call the trucking company and we'll see about having it be re-delivered.

And oh, by the way, the days at home were WORK days. No naps, no TV, just emailing, calling, and writing.

I had a special appointment with one of my doctors today. She was working on the paperwork as part of a claim I'm making against my disability insurance policy. With changing positions at work that will allow me to work from home at a reduced salary, I am hoping that they will pick up a portion of the salary difference. My policy says they will. Fingers are crossed.
